Dog friendly cottage

We are very happy to welcome your furry family member(s) to our cottage. The garden is enclosed and secure, with an outside tap and hose to wash any muddy/sandy feet. There are spare food bowls in the kitchen, just in case you forget yours, and plenty of extra throws in the yellow ottoman in the living room which you can use to protect the sofas from any furry forays!

We are fortunate to be surrounded by the lovely rolling countryside of East Yorkshire offering excellent walks straight from the cottage. Turn left from the cottage, then first left down Church Lane to the T junction at the church. Here turn left again and the road brings you to a public footpath through the fields.

Another lovely walk is along the Hornsea Rail Trail, which you can access at the point where it crosses the Beverley Road near Whitedale Farm Shop. There is a small car park here.

Beverley Racecourse and its surrounding heathland offers excellent dog walking opportunities, which you can combine with a shopping trip to the lovely independent shops there.

Burton Constable Hall also has large grounds where you can walk several miles with your dog.

And of course, there are some lovely local beaches. The nearest beach is at Mappleton and is dog friendly year round. In high season it may be difficult to park here as the car park only takes about 10 cars although they are currently creating a larger car park in the village. Hornsea and Withernsea both have very good family friendly beaches. From May to September many of the beaches do not allow dogs, but the excellent beach at Fraisthorpe, just south of Bridlington allows dogs all year round, has good parking (you need to buy a parking ticket on site) and has a great cafe called The Cow Shed.
